What exactly is a Virtual Horse Show?

According to the Oxford dictionary the word, “vir·tu·al or [ˈvÉ™rCH(oÍžo)É™l],” means ‘to be carried out, accessed, or stored by means of a computer, especially over a network’.  Hence, a virtual horse show is an event that utilizes images, submitted via email in digital form, to depict literal snapshots of an equestrian event, be it in-hand or astride.  These photos are entered into classes appropriate for the images, where they are then evaluated by a panel of judges who determine the class placing.  The WWRAC Virtual Horse Show is open to all breeds and disciplines.  If, after reading the rules, you are not certain which category to enter, please contact us for clarification.  We will be happy to assist you and would love to see your horses participating at our event.

When Does It Start?

The opening date for our 2019 Summer All-Breed Virtual Horse Show will be 12:00 AM PST June 1st, 2019.  The closing date for entries will be 11:59 PM PST on July 31st, 2019.  This delayed and extended time frame shall provide interested equestrians ample time to build their photography portfolio at the early shows this year, or to sort through last year’s portraits for appropriate images.  The judging will take place in August at our annual four-day Summer Spotacular Trail Ride (If you are local, please come join us.  Unlike our show, the Trail Ride is not virtual, and we have a great time!).

5. ENTRY FEE: $2.00 PER HORSE, PER ENTRY.

6. LIMIT THREE PHOTOS PER HORSE, PER ENTRY.  You may submit multiple entries per horse if you wish to enter more than one class within a certain category (ie. Western Pleasure and Western Horsemanship).

PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRIES:

Our Virtual Horse Show is open to all horses whether they are purebred or grade, registered or not.  As we are an Appaloosa breed club, we may elect to hold separate subdivisions for our Appaloosa entries in addition to the classes already offered as open, all-breed events.

To enter the show, you will need three (3) good photos of your horse.
Please limit your photos to three (3) only per class.  If you wish to show in multiple classes in any particular category, you can do so by stating which class you are entering and paying the additional entry fee.
If entering Halter, we suggest you set your horse squarely and submit a photo directly from the side, a photo from the front or rear and a photo demonstrating his gait.  Conversely, you could submit a head study instead of an action photo, it is really up to you and what you think would be the best representation of your horse. Please remember to limit each entry to 3 good photos. Your photos may be taken at home or at a show. Win photos may be used, but you MUST crop out the ribbons/judge where possible.
Since this is a virtual show, you may enter horses you have previously owned or shown as well as your current show partner.
If you are entering a performance event, the photos (limited to 3 per class you enter) should best represent the event you are entering.

Small J-Peg image files preferred.

Entry fees will be $2.00 per horse, per class….that fee includes the 3 photos per event.

PAYPAL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE THROUGH THE 'FRIENDS AND FAMILY' OPTION ONLY!!!
We will be using our President’s PayPal account, which is kris_daren@yahoo.com
If you have to pay by check, make check or money order payable to WWRAC, and send to Kristen Reiter, 160 W Crescent Harbor Road, Oak Harbor, WA  98277

Required information for each conformation entry:
a. Your horse’s ‘call’ name and registered name
b. Breed,
c. Gender,
d. Date of birth,
e. The Class or Event you are entering.

Judging will be performed by an anonymous panel of judges possessing experiences in various disciplines in the equine industry.  Entries will be judged on the best representation of each type of event.  If entries warrant, categoies can be subdivided as determined by the judging team.

A list of winners will be posted after judging results are received, but no sooner than August 31, 2019.
